MGB Roadster 1978This car was originally exported to the USA and as far as I have been able to establish it spent the next 22 years in California, after which it was re-imported to the UK and was purchased by a lady living in Stratford-upon-Avon.
At this point I was able to trace its history onwards, the lady ran the car for about 3 years and then traded it in for another model. The car then went through a minor overhaul and stood in the showroom window until a very wealthy gentleman saw it and decided to add the car to his collection (his collection has 32 classic cars in it!!!)
Some two years ago I was searching around for a classic car and happened by chance to see an advert in the Costa Blanca Newspaper giving the website address for the aforementioned wealthy gentleman and eventually managed to locate his dwelling place which turned out to be in Benidorm. After several trips from Campoverde to Benidorm I was able to purchase the car.
Finally I would like to add that many moons ago I was told by an elderly gent that we enthusiasts never really own classic cars but are merely caretakers with the desire to ensure that these cars do live on - I think this is probably true and I for my part would hope that all our club members are of the same likely thinking.
