October Club Night
About fifty members and friends came together to enjoy and show themselves proudly off in their evening dress.
The idea for this evening was to have a black and white theme night on which we dressed ourselves up in black and white clothing, with anything from a dining suit to a French maids outfit, and clothes were dug out of wardrobes or put together with all kinds of skills and imagination. The results were beautiful and or amusing and a prize was presented at the end of the evening for the best black and white female outfit and also for the best black and white male outfit.
Bruce had thought up a black and white photo quiz in which competitors were invited to answer questions about photos from past club events, club cars and other motoring related things. The black and white photos were printed on large sheets and hung on the walls of our meeting room where they could be seen and discussed before putting the answers on the black and white question form, the forms were then judged and a score was counted and the prize of a pair of black and white ladies and gents matching wrist watches was given.
We were also joined by several prospective members who had seen us at our first “ Ace Café ” meeting and wanted to know what we got up to on our club nights.
The evening was a great success in which all members present got into the spirit of the black and white theme and you can see the effort that was made on the attached photos and also on the Image Gallery.
The evening ended with the presentation of the well earned prizes, and the one for the quiz went to Roy McKnight narrowly beating Tony Mansell by only half a point.
The judging of the best dressed member was a lot more difficult but the final winner of the ladies dress went to ‘ Oh- La-La ’ Yvonne ( FiFi ) Dickson wearing a saucy French maids black and white dress and tickling everyone’s fancy with her white feather duster.
The best dressed man was Jim Benden ( rumoured to be wearing his black and white wedding suit ). He looked very smart indeed.
Birthday suits ( black or white ) were not allowed
Mr. Black and Mrs. White were unfortunately unable to attend but we managed quite well without them.
Our next event is Brian and Adrian’s Drive on Sunday the 18th of October and we’re going to the Mountain Range west of Murcia for some very interesting roads. If you haven’t booked ring Eric or Jack on 620899559 for possible late bookings.
