Mar Menor VI Concentracíon Automóviles Clásicos 2009

photo. Click to view full image For the second time our club had the honour of being invited to take part in one of the largest meetings of Classic Cars in this area.
Meeting at the Lo Monte Hotel near to San Pedro, and after a coffee wake up, we departed in convoy heading for the Esplanada of Lo Pagán.
More than 50 club members and friends with their Classic Cars arrived at the display area and with more than 25 cars the Phoenix Car Club represented about 15% of the total cars there. We were greeted with a bag of goodies including tickets for a welcome cup of hot chocolate and the typical sweet crunchy churos, a sandwich and later, last but not least, a generous helping of the giant paella. Parking amongst other fantastic examples of bygone motoring, we were made aware of the important part we play in keeping them alive and on the road, not just parked in museums.
The weather was kind to us and even though a bit windy, the temperature for November was nice and warm. Lots of photo’s were taken and new personal contacts made with other clubs from the area, and the day was voted a great success by everybody. The day ended with the exchanging of trophies by the presidents of the many clubs represented there on the day.
A big thank you to all who attended and made the day the success it was.

On the Image Gallery part of our site are some of the many photo´s that were made and every picture speaks the message of the day.
