May Club Drive
With a promising weather forecast it was a perfect day for a drive through the mountains with a classic car and this drive was outstanding. The sky suddenly seemed bigger once we got into the mountains and began to imerse ourselves in the wild and rugged scenery where the natural landscape dictates the contour of roads that have evolved over centuries and only received a tarmac dressing during our own lifetime. This was a totally new route and having met up at Bar Montesol near Aspe, 11 cars set off towards Ibi along deserted roads that make driving here such a pleasure. Once in Ibi we enjoyed a pleasant hour wandering the streets (and interrogating the locals!) in pursuit of answers to a Quiz Sheet that Tony and Trish had prepared.
We resumed our journey and explored more of the local roads through scenery almost impossible to describe, hence please look at the gallery where a picture really does speak a thousand words. Eventually we arrived at Restaurante El Jardine and enjoyed an excellent meal.
Prizes were awarded to Roger and Marie Anne as quiz winners and to Adrian who astonished us all when he managed to put an answer down for every question without leaving the bar in Ibi! Some were even correct......
